Latest News: Osho is free for all to use.

Sannyasworld.com reports:

"OIF have lost the trademark of the word "Osho" as related to meditations and related usages. The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board found that "the term Osho is generic for the meditations devised by the mystic Osho and the meditation and religious movement arising therefrom. As a result defendant [OIF] cannot foreclose others from utilizing the term OSHO to describe their own goods and services based upon such meditations and movements."

Happy New Year 2009

With the end of 2008, Tapoban completes its 18th year as an International Osho commune. It gives us pleasure to announce that today Tapoban is one of the thriving communes and is home to many Osho sannyassin and spiritual seekers around the world. With the recent visits of Swami Arun, Tapoban has been able to open 22 Osho centers and communes in USA, Canada, Russia, UK and Germany that conduct regular Osho meditations and camps. The Sannyas movement in Nepal has been incredible! With thousands of sannyasins, Nepal already has hundreds of active centers with two new communes in the pipeline. Looking back at 2008, the year has been as eventful and intense as the last almost-two decades of our upbringing. Many events bitter-sweet came our way and we have come through all standing more strongly than we did yesterday. We can only thank and bow down to our beloved master Osho who is embodied in every part of this commune; whose presence thrives in the wild dances of the sannyassins here, whose words of fire echoes every night during our Whiterobe and whose overflowing energy manifests in each one of us during our Sannyas celebrations. We invite you with open arms to come and experience this craziness, dance and silence.

Wish you all a very prosperous and meditative new year 2009. OSHO!!!

From Mind To No- Mind: November 7 days camp

After the seven day intense meditation camp in October, another seven day no-mind group was organized in Tapoban from 1st -7th November. Along with the one hour no-mind sessions other meditations such as Dynamic, Kundalini, Nadabrahma, Chakra-Sound, Stop and White-robe were also practiced every day. The other meditation sessions harmonized with the no-mind sessions and helped the participants to go deeper into silence. Ma Anand Punyam, 23, a participant from the camp shared with us, “Though I have lost my voice after the no-mind the catharsis has helped me a lot. I really liked listening to Osho after these sessions as I could understand him better. This is the first time I have been in silence for seven days and it has helped me incredibly. I would really like to continue meditating even after I go home.” Ma Punyam recently finished her Banchelors in English from the St Stephens College in Delhi and works in an INGO in Kathmandu.
After seven days of no-mind sessions a sannyas celebration was held on the last day of camp when new friends took initiation into Osho Neo- Sannyas. The camp was facilitated by Swami Anand Arun.

First Shivapuri Baba Silence Temple Inaugurated at Osho Tapoban

ShivpuriThe Shivapuri Baba Silent Mandir in Tapoban was recently inaugurated on 8th November by Swami Anand Arun in the presence of fellow sannyassins, revered guests, journalists and intimate disciples of Shivapuri Baba. Recently built, the structure stands just beside the Osho Samadhi and is an enclosed space for silent meditation. The complex also has a very beautiful white statue of Shivapuri baba in it that gives a fine aesthetic touch to the temple. An enlightened mystic of India, Shivapuri Baba (1826-1963) travelled all over the world during the first half of 19th century and provided spiritual guidance to people such as Queen Victoria, Albert Einstien, George Bernard Shaw, Madam Curie and many others. After reaching 100 years of age Baba travelled to Nepal and spent the remaining 37 years of his life in the Shivapuri forest and the Bankali forest. Osho has many a times talked about Baba in his discourses calling him one of the remarkable mystics from India.

During the ceremony, Ex-Prime minister Honorable Lokendra Bahadur Chand shared, “Everytime I come to Tapoban I feel relaxed in the mind and experience a beautiful silence. I would be glad if Swami Arun would teach me the knack of maintaining this tranquility even at home.” Amonst the guests present during the ceremony were also Mr. Krishna Pahari, President of Human Rights and Peace Society, Indra Lohani, senior journalist, and Mr Narhari Acharya, Hnble member of the Parliament

3 days meditation camp in Gangasagar

On the invitation of friends from India, Swami Arun along with other five friends from Tapoban went to the city of Kolkata to conduct an Osho meditation camp. With friends from India, Nepal and Italy, the camp commenced with White robe celebrations on the 11th of November. During the 3 day camp Swami Arun conducted different Osho meditation sessions and also held sharing sessions in which he answered the queries of friends. He also shared his experience about Osho and his work. A sannyas celebration was held on the night of 16th November. After the Ganga Sagar Camp Swami Arun also conducted a three day camp in Haryana, India. The camp was conducted at the recently inaugurated commune, “Osho Maha Mandir”. This beautiful commune is spread across a five and a half acre land and is situated 40kms from Delhi international Airport. It has facilities for silence retreat camps and group therapies. The camp in Haryana was facilitated by Ma Prem Shakun.

Osho Birthday Celebration at Tapoban and a 3days meditation camp

A day long celebration was organized at Tapoban on 11th December to celebrate the birthday of the Master. The celebration was followed by a three day meditation camp conducted by Swami Anand Arun and Ma Anand Sambodhi. Along with the homegrown Nepalese sannyassin, friends from Holland, Iran, England, Belgium, China, India, Pakistan and Russia had arrived in Tapoban to celebrate Osho’s Birthday. The day started with Dynamic meditations followed by celebrations on old and new Osho kirtans. With so many sannyassins from all over the world celebrating together in one place in their robes and mala reminded of the old days of Pune and Rajneeshpuram. A sannyas celebration was also organized in the evening when 12 new friends got intiated into Osho Neo-sannyas through Swami Anand Arun.

Swami Avseshananda, an international journalist and the head of three Hindu Ashrams in India also participated in the celebrations. Swamiji shared his experience and said, “You all are very lucky to have a master like Osho who has given you so much freedom with spirituality. We never had this freedom in our strict ashrams when we were growing up.” Such a comment from a highly revered Hindu guru shows a very simple and intelligent person behind it. It also articulates the fact that Osho is being acknowledged by many endowed personalities around the world.

Osho Meditaiton camp in Amarkantak, India

AmarkantakA five day Osho meditation camp was organized in Amarkantak, India from 24th to 28th December. Facilitated by Swami Anand Arun, the camp had a participation of 150 friends from Ukraine, UK, India and Nepal. A car parade through the city was also organized during the camp where about 35 cars participated. In order to share Osho's vision of celebration and meditation with the people of Amarkantak, the parade played Osho music and kirtans followed by celebrating sannyassins and friends.
During this camp Swami Anand Arun got a hearty welcome from the people of Amarkantak and also the media of the city. About 10 newspapers interviewed Swami Anand Arun about Osho and the neo-sannyas movement making the camp a headline amongst the other daily news.

"Media has a great role to play. An event of a homicide or a political leader attending a party attracts all journalists and they make it therr headlines. However a positive news like someone opening a new commune for meditation is not considered significant enogh for coverage. The news influence the public psychology in a harmful way, it promotes crime. Journalists should understand this and be more aware and responsible in their decisions." Said Swami Arun replying to a question of a journalist. A press conference was also organized in Bilashpur.
35 friends took initiation into Osho neo sannyas during the camp. The camp was organized with the help of Swami Gyan Ekant.

Julie becomes Ma Bodhi Deepika at Tapoban

tapobanMa Bodhi Deepika (Julie), 20, is from Belgium and is doing her Bachelors in Sociology. After looking for Osho communes on the internet Deepika came in contact with Osho Tapoban and decided to travel to Nepal to visit the commune. After participating in the seven day Osho No – Mind meditation camp, she decided to take sannyas. Here is a short interview about her experiences in Tapoban.

How did you come to know about Osho?

My aunt introduced me to meditation when I was a child and I used to do meditations for children. Later when I grew up I started reading a lot of spiritual books. I came across a book, Body Mind Balancing by Osho in a book store in Belgium When I read it I could recognize myself with what he was saying. And he was saying it so beautiful, simple and understandable that I immediately fell in love.

So did you do any meditations or visit any Osho commune afterwards?

I was only reading Osho but not doing any meditation. I didn’t know about Osho communes either until I came across this book which was actually a diary of a girl who had lived in Pune for three months. Then I searched on the internet and came to know about Pune and Tapoban. I decided to travel to Nepal to visit some friends and they brought me here.

Tell me what was your first impression when you came to Tapoban?

I was like this is paradise! It was like Garden of Eden for me. That was my first impression. I really like these boards with Osho quotes everywhere. And people here are so nice, relaxed, healthy and energetic. I love it here. I started doing Osho meditations for the first time and it was really good.

So how was your experience with Osho meditations?

I really like Dynamic here. I also like how Kundalini creates this energy in the body. And I loved the No-mind sessions. Before when I saw all these people going crazy during the no-mind I was a little shocked but when I started participating it has helped me to throw a lot of things out of my system. And I also like Nadabrahma, it helps me to really feel the silence.

How did you find the seven day camp?

It was a very nice experience. I really don’t want to go anywhere at least for awhile. And I really like Swami Arun. He’s a nice guy and very funny with such a good sense of humor. I was quiet surprised about how passionate he is about Osho, how he puts all his energy and passion to explain Osho. And like I said the people here are really good people. There’s a beautiful energy here and it’s kind of addictive.

How did you decide to take sannyas after the camp? Tell us about your experience during sannyas.

It is only my first camp so I thought that I would take the camp and won’t rush things so fast. Then one guy told me to just go for it though he didn’t push me and left the decision on me. Now I am actually really glad that he told me. It was a very intense and special experience.
I really don’t have any words to explain. When Swami Arun touched my third eye, I immediately felt a warm energy entering and then spreading everywhere in my body. It was like some energy had overtaken my body and I couldn’t move my hands or my feet. It was almost like orgasm. I really like the mala that he gave me. One Italian lady was telling me that they don’t wear the mala in the Europe but I want to wear it at least at home and during the meditations.

Have you felt or experienced any changes in you after the camp and the sannyas?

I don’t really know now and I’ll have to wait for a few months to see it. But right now I feel very relaxed and there is some kind of silence in me which I really needed. And I hope that I can keep it and maintain it for the rest of my life. But of course I’ll have to keep on meditating.

Thank you very much for sharing. Is there anything that you would like to say in the end?

This experience has been very helpful for me to reconnect with myself. I don’t know if it’s the same situation here but back in the West people are very ambitious. It is very important to show off your achievements and gain superiority over the others. High ambitions have created a lot of stress and pressure in people. We really need to stop this. People have lost the real meaning of life and have a lot of questions. It would be really good if more people would meditate and start looking inside.

Osho's Quote of the month

"In fact in the spiritual world there are only disciples, not masters. Masters ARE there but they are inactive, passive forces. They cannot DO anything, they are just there -- like a flower: if nobody comes, the flower will go on spreading its fragrance into emptiness. It cannot help itself. The whole thing is decided by the disciple: how to learn? how to learn from a flower? And a flower shows something but doesn't say it. It cannot be said. How can the flower say what beauty is? -- the flower IS beauty. You have to gain, attain, eyes to see, a nose to smell, ears to hear the subtle sound that comes to the flower when the breeze passes by. And you need a heart to feel the throbbing of the flower, because it throbs also -- everything alive throbs, the whole existence throbs.." -And the flowers showered- OSHO
